Troy James

Troy joined the Animal Referral Hospital in 2006 and has worked in large specialist and emergency centres in Australia and overseas for the past 16 years.  As a result he brings a diverse wealth of experience to ARH.  This experience includes over 28 years of working with animals in zoos, wildlife parks, general practices, specialist emergency centres and research. His main passion has been Small Animal and Critical Care medicine and has also worked as part of the ARH emergency team.

As a General Manager, Troy has been responsible for overseeing the design and build of new hospitals, maintaining and purchasing equipment including CT and MRI installations, supporting and maintaining IT and phone systems, recruitment and human resources across the group.

Troy oversees all three ARH Hospitals in NSW and is responsible for many of the day to day functions in a busy specialist and emergency group with over 550 staff. He is passionate about helping our patients and enjoys teaching and mentoring. Troy recently completed a certificate in training and assessment and is a Justice of the Peace.

On weekends, he often escapes Sydney for the tranquility of his 30 acre property in Mudgee with Eve, his Cavoodle. He also enjoys travelling and getting outdoors with his partner, friends and family.
