Thank you for your support of the ARH Canberra team while we have had to make changes in our opening hours due to staffing shortages. We truly appreciate your understanding at a challenging time for our veterinary community.

We are pleased to say we now have some additional capacity where we may be able to see more patients outside of hours on a case-by-case basis. Please refer to our most updated hours below moving forward.

ARH CANBERRA EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT OPENING HOURS:

  • Emergencies for existing patients: Open 24/7
  • Transfers: Open 24/7
  • Referrals for new emergencies: 8am-3.30pm, Monday to Friday
  • New patient emergency walk ins: 8am – 3.30pm, Monday to Friday
  • Emergency after hours (Overnight, Saturday, Sunday, Public Holidays): We are able to see new patients on an appointment basis depending on our current patient load. We ask that you phone ahead to make an appointment so we can manage case appropriately.

Due to the impact of COVID-19, our specialist and emergency hospitals are experiencing staff shortages, we ask for your understanding during this period.  We are prioritising our patients based on the severity of their illness or injury as to when they are able to be seen by our emergency team.

 

We care about your pets and their health, if you have any health concerns for your pet during this period we highly recommend WebVet where you are able to speak to a qualified vet via video call 24/7*
