The service now provides continuous care for our critical patients, as well as streamlined emergency admissions 24/7. We are looking for casual and part time emergency nurses to join our team.

Essential Attributes

  • Friendly, easy going nature with a strong work ethic
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in GP nursing
  • Certificate IV in veterinary nursing or equivalent
  • Availability to work overnights, weekends and public holidays
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work efficiently and multi-task
  • Demonstrate consistently high quality of patient care even in busy conditions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Willingness to assist with short-notice shift cover, from time to time, if required

The service is staffed by specialists in ECC, emergency veterinarians, experienced emergency nurses, animal attendants and reception staff 24 hours. We are looking for an Emergency & Imaging Nurse, to be employed on a permanent part-time basis.

We are currently searching for an Emergency Nursing Manager to carry out all aspects of people management for a large group of emergency and ICU nurses and act as a mentor for senior nurses and team leaders. The role is based at our Homebush facility and will require some flexibility in terms of hours in order to build and maintain relationships with weekend and overnight staff.

Strong clinical management and leadership on the floor will be a critical success factor in this role. Management responsibilities will be with the support of the wider management team and will include but is not limited to recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, training, rostering, performance management, grievance handling, conflict resolution and more. The successful candidate will be an experienced, energetic and mature leader.

Essential attributes

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a veterinary nurse
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a specialist or emergency centre
  • Previous experience in a management or senior nursing role

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Willingness to work hard, teach and lead by example
