Michelle grew up on her family farm on the shores of Lake George, near Tarago.
She then relocated to Wagga to pursue her lifelong dream, studying Veterinary Medicine at Charles Sturt University where she graduated with first class honours in mid 2015. During the last two years of her degree Michelle worked at ARH Canberra (formerly AECC) as an emergency nurse and never left, becoming part of the veterinary team when she graduated.
Michelle thoroughly enjoys emergency work and thrives on the fast paced environment and ever changing case load that it provides. Michelle’s special interests include mechanical ventilation, snake envenomation and sepsis. Michelle is currently half way through her graduate certificate in small animal emergency and critical care with Melbourne University.
Outside of the veterinary world, Michelle enjoys horse riding, training and coaching. She also loves spending time with her family and her two canine companions – Yoyo the retired working Kelpie and Charlie the adopted Daschund.
